Dear EDS Parents,
PLEASE take a few minutes to fill out the annual surveys this year. We spend a great deal of time each year analyzing the data as part of every grade’s planning and each teacher’s professional reflection and goal setting.
Even if you don’t think you have much to say, we need high participation in order for the data to be valid. We look at important patterns across grades and over the years, so we need consistently high participation from you.
These survey results have been the catalyst for many great improvements over the years, such as all-day kindergarten, increased emphasis on fine arts, expansion of middle school clubs, and smoothing students’ transition between grades and divisions. The comparative data also helps guide professional development and goal setting for teachers and grade-level teams.
These annual surveys ask very different questions than the SAIS Value Narrative Survey we asked you to take in November. With 65% participation, we got some meaningful insights from that one, which I will briefly summarize in the March 21 parent meeting. But we hope to far exceed 65% participation for these surveys and hope to approach 100%.
Don’t be like the parent who said, “I don’t take those surveys because I don’t have anything negative to say. I love EDS!” We need EVERYONE’s responses to help the data be most meaningful.
Please fill out one survey for each EDS student:
